TMS Replaces Time-Consuming Old System

CAB Health & Recovery Services is a leading substance-abuse agency serving communities across north-eastern Massachusetts and greater Boston.

Prior to installing Advance Systems’ time and attendance software, TMS, the company used paper-based manual systems for time and attendance and HR Information. With 350 employees in 9 locations over a 50-mile radius, accurately managing attendance data, HR information and payroll processes was time consuming and susceptible to human error. 

Huge Time-Savings

“Before we installed TMS all employees signed in on weekly time sheets. Payroll would manually enter the hours worked for each employee by department. All exceptions and reconciliations had to be done manually - this took up 60% of the department’s time. Through no fault of the department the whole process was full of potential for human error. Payroll is certainly one of the areas where we have seen extensive time saving since we installed TMS.” 

Accurate Records of Hours Worked

“Previously when filling in time sheets employees were simply entering the required start and end times. As a result if they arrived early or left late this was not being recorded. Now with TMS we have complete and accurate records of all start and end times without the employees even having to think about it.” 

Biometrics Clocking-In

“We decided that TMS TAS DOTNET and Biometrics together would provide the best fit for the organization. Employees who are paid hourly clock in at Biometrics terminals while salaried staff can register their attendance through Biometrics or via DOTNET from the desktop PCs. “We use TMS in many ways and it provides the solution to key functions for us internally. We use it to record and schedule employee training and reviews: managers receive automatic notification of an upcoming employee review and can then access all of the necessary information so that they are fully prepared to carry out each employee review on time.  

We also use TMS to automatically track the various types of leave throughout our organization. Previously this was incredibly complicated for 350 employees and so many locations. 

Our licensing requires that employees receive regular training and screenings.  TMS manages this automatically for us and we can easily report on who has already completed and who has yet to receive the required trainings and screenings.”
