200 Days Saved per Month

AIB Capital Markets installed Advance System’s Time and Attendance software, TMS, with DOT NET functionality in 2001 for their 2,500 staff. Before this, some areas of AIB Capital Markets used a sign-in book to register time and attendance, while the majority of areas did not have any time and attendance system. "We needed to introduce a system to monitor compliance with the Working Time Act, and to achieve labour savings", said Barbara Mullen, Human Resources. The system was rolled out on a piece-meal basis, department by department. During the implementation, AIB Capital Markets assigned 200 TMS coordinators who received in-depth training on TMSDOTNET. Ms. Mullen estimates "TMS probably saves each coordinator at least 1 day per month on general employee administration, that equals 200 days.”

Compliance with Working Directive

According to Ms. Mullen, “Advance Systems’ time and attendance system allows us to monitor compliance with the European Working Time Directive in a much more efficient manner than the spreadsheet system we used previously which was hugely labour-intensive and open to error. With TMS we simply run the reports and all the information is there and accurate. It would involve at least 1 day's work for a Department to compile the information that we get from TMS in a matter of minutes.”

Monitor Absenteeism

Ms. Mullen explained, "AIB Capital Markets is focused on building absence profiles. With TMS we can monitor absenteeism month on month which we weren't able to do previously. To be able to report on those statistics quickly and easily makes a big difference and saves so much time.”
